As we follow Jesus Christ and strive to be more like Him, He can change, magnify, and direct us towards becoming more celestial and return to live with them.
Happy June Appleton Wisconsin Stake!
With the coming of flowers and green trees this time of year, we are reminded of God’s love for us and for all of his children. It is readily apparent whenever we spend any time out of doors. It is everywhere. A personal favorite are the majestic Weeping Willow trees.
Seeing this incredible beauty and feeling God’s love for me started me thinking “how do I show God my love for him”? Is it readily apparent by my thoughts and behavior?
Certainly we can show God we love Him by being exactly obedient. But is that enough? Where is my mind and heart at as I am fulfilling my callings or participating in daily scripture reading? Am I striving to be like Jesus Christ?
Certainly we can show God we love Him by honoring, respecting, and keeping our covenants. But is that enough? Where is my mind and heart while in the Temple, or in Sacrament meeting? Am I striving to be like Jesus Christ?
Certainly we can show God we love Him by loving our neighbors - those in our families or those around us. But is that enough? Where is my mind and heart at while bringing a dinner to a sick friend or dealing with a family member who has hurt or disappointed us? Am I striving to be like Jesus Christ?
Having our hearts and minds drawn out continuously to God is a way for us to show God we love Him. As we follow Jesus Christ and strive to be more like Him, He can change, magnify, and direct us towards becoming more celestial and return to live with them. If we pray for the Holy Ghost to direct our footsteps daily, our service will become consecrated.
This is a very powerful way to show Heavenly Father we love Him.
